The first goal achieved was the purchase of a new vehicle for safe travel. It cost approximately €80,000, and it costs to operate it so Dimitri can be driven wherever he needs it. He is continuing his studies, attending the Faculty of Engineering in Ancona, and will soon begin an internship at a shipyard. His dream is to become a naval engineer, and it will be necessary, although less urgent, to find a significant amount of money before Dimitri can start working and support himself. He will likely have to enroll in a different city for his master’s degree, with all the practical problems that this entails, including financial ones. It is essential to continue supporting him by donating to the Forza Dimitri fund, which remains open and can be continued.
We will tell you the reasons why it is necessary to continue collecting donations, especially on FB Dimitri Roccia.
In agreement with his parents and his brother, Dimitri—as he has already done by donating the Citroen Berlingo—will continue to allocate a percentage of the funds received to aid other friends who have suffered a serious accident or have a severe disabling illness, and for their families who carry an equally heavy burden.
Below is the video showing the latest goal that was achieved thanks to the donations currently arriving
Having reached the goal of delivering the Sprinter to Dimitri, it was possible to donate the old but still excellent and very useful Citroen to the Association of Paraplegics of the Marche region.
Thus, with this transport vehicle suited to Dimitri’s “measurements,” reliable and safer even for long journeys,
Simone was finally able, after many years, to take Dimitri to see the mountains again.
Finally, they enjoyed a few days of vacation from their studies together with some friends. As soon as Dimitri was able to go out in his wheelchair and enjoy the mountain view, he said: “You know it’s true? I thought that only at the seaside could one enjoy the splendor of nature… If it hadn’t been for a wonderful team of friends! Wonderful, not only because it allowed me to purchase the Sprinter, but because friendship has allowed me to still enjoy the beauty that life offers. THANK YOUUUUU!”

Le donazioni che arriveranno permetteranno di chiudere i conti del primo necessario e urgente bisogno. Dimitri and his family will continue to use the funds paid into the philanthropic fund to meet future needs.

Dimitri had to purchase a new computer,
because the one he had was not suitable for using a program like AutoCAD, which is essential for a mechanical engineer.

It will be very useful, and in some cases necessary, to equip the new PC with increasingly innovative and updated technological and IT supports for the severely disabled, which are unfortunately still very expensive

A tetraplegic since he was 14 and a lover of sports, Dimitri remains a rock; at 22, he attends the Faculty of Engineering because with his grandfather, Dimitri had learned to steer a sailboat and since then has studied with the goal of becoming a naval engineer. When he was at sea and in his dreams, he often chose to sail on a pirate ship to move and travel. But for road travel, his father Simone certainly cannot load him onto a sailing ship. Emergencies happen, and an ambulance is not always immediately available, and sometimes it is urgent to hospitalize him at the Niguarda Spinal Unit to receive specialized assistance in complex care and therapies at the Milanese hospital, since the health of a disabled person like Dimitri is always precarious.
The Sprinter is the necessary vehicle to allow him to attend at least some engineering courses in person at the Ancona faculty and, at least once a year, reunite the family, with mother Nikoletta and brother Alessio, to spend some time together, because, unfortunately, half the family is forced to live in a Greek town in Thessaloniki.
Helping Dimitri and his father Simone reunite the family, in Greece or in Italy, is the Santarelli family’s greatest wish. How can one not share this desire? It will be the greatest challenge they seek to face. For this reason, let us continue to follow Dimitri’s story and help him win this challenge, if possible by continuing to donate to his philanthropic fund, Forza Dimitri
