The Festival that showcases, celebrates, and rewards the beauty of diversity
The Festival Internazionale del Cinema Nuovo was founded in 1997 from an idea by psychologist Romeo della Bella, who directed it with passion and enthusiasm until his passing in 2016.
Today, this dream is carried forward by the Associazione Romeo della Bella, which bears his name. It is a short film competition featuring people with disabilities, and has become a significant point of reference in the cinematographic landscape dedicated to this field.
Its uniqueness lies in the active participation of staff and users from communities, day or residential centers, and volunteer associations, who are the true protagonists in the various stages of creating the short films.
