Amar Jyoti School is a school near Rishikesh, in the Indian state of Uttaranchal. The school is sponsoring the education of 110 children (4-14 years old) and is entirely supported by donations. The children come from the most disadvantaged families, where they daily experience abuse, poverty and malnutrition. Many of them are orphans. Amar Jyoti School provides them with healthy food, medical care and a joyful environment to improve their present situation, and with free and qualified education to ensure them a better future. The next steps will be the creation of a hostel for orphans and of a professional training program for boys and girls over 14.
