Aurora is an Italian girl born in September 2024 with a rare malformation of her left leg: she is missing her femur and her foot is at the height of her opposite knee. She is cheerful, strong, and determined. But to walk and live actively, she needs a complex procedure in the United States. Worldwide, only the Paley Institute in Florida has the necessary expertise to care for Aurora. Dr. Dror Paley, an international expert, has confirmed that she is an ideal candidate for the Paley-Brown Rotationplasty: a technique that transforms her foot into a “new knee” on which to fit a prosthesis.
